CANON's UVgel family grows with this addition
Canon , present at the last edition of C!Print Madrid 2019, has launched a new model that completes and expands the range of large format printers that was inaugurated by the Océ Colorado 1640 UVgel printer in 2017. The manufacturer now offers a new model: the Océ Colorado 1650 UVgel . This 64” (162.5 cm) machine is equipped with a new version of Canon's UV gel inks , which have achieved the highest level of UL GREENGUARD Gold certification . It is also equipped with the new drying technology led Océ Finish . These two changes increase the range of supports and finishes.
Canon has completed over 1,000 installations of the Colorado series. Since September 2019, the installed base of the Colorado 1640 and 1650 printers has reached monthly print volumes of over one million square meters . Colorado printer installations are growing rapidly, with each producing higher volumes than initially anticipated , with 16% of customers printing more than 25,000 square meters per year on each Colorado device.
CHOOSE MATTE OR GLOSSY?
What's unique about this new printer is the ability to choose between glossy or matte resolution without having to change ink or media. The manufacturer recommends:
“ A glossy finish adds visual impact to applications such as banners and posters. Conversely, a matte finish is particularly attractive for high-quality interior applications viewed under artificial light, such as murals. ”
