Epson will be at C!Print Madrid on September 29th, 30th, and October 1st, and on this occasion, we had the opportunity to speak with Josep Maria Coll, Commercial & Industrial Printing Director.
Epson has announced many new features at the beginning of 2020. Could you tell us about them?
At Epson, we continually work to meet our customers' needs. That's why our innovation never stops, something that has led us to be among the Top 100 Innovators worldwide for the past five consecutive years, according to Clarivate Analytics. Digital transformation, the search for efficient solutions, and reducing environmental impact are three factors that have led the textile production, personalization, visual communication, labeling, and professional photography sectors to trust Epson as a technology partner. We are committed to all of these sectors, with constant solutions and innovations. 2020 could not be an exception.
What response do you propose to the market with these new solutions?
The textile sector is the second most polluting industry in the world. The production of clothing and decorative items with fabrics involves production processes that are intensive in the use of water and chemical dyes, which are poorly aligned with the planet's demands from a corporate responsibility perspective. This market, the textile sector, is asking us to mitigate these effects, and we provide digital printing solutions that allow them to reduce water consumption by 60% and energy consumption by 80%. Another growing trend is customization, where our digital sublimation printing solutions are the most comprehensive, scalable, and highly efficient solution on the market.
Why is it strategic for Epson to participate in C!Print Madrid?
Epson has been present at C! Print Madrid since its first edition. For us, it's a great opportunity to have direct contact with our customers and the industry in general, not only to showcase our technology and new developments, but also to gather their feedback on trends and needs. Active listening is very important to us because it's the foundation of our R&D.
